Terry McVenes

Terry McVenes is the President and CEO of RTCA, Inc., a private, not-for-profit corporation founded in 1935. RTCA supports emerging trends in aerospace through the development of performance-based standards that serve as a basis for certification by FAA, EASA, and other regulators around the world.

Prior to coming to RTCA, McVenes spent 10 years with The Boeing Company, where he led Boeing’s relationships with the ICAO, the FAA Flight Standards Service organization, pilot associations, and other industry groups. A thirty-year airline pilot veteran, he is rated on multiple aircraft and has more than 17,000 hours of flight time.

McVenes currently chairs the FAA’s Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Subcommittee on Aircraft Safety and is an advisory board member of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety. He holds an MBA from Seattle University, a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado, and the Certificate of Aviation Safety Management from the University of Southern California.
