May 3 – SC-228, Minimum Performance Standards for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, will meet at RTCA in Washington, DC, to hear updates on progress from each of the SC-228 working groups and EUROCAE WG-105. The committee will also receive a usage update report from the FAA Government Authorized Representative.
May 6 – SC-186 w/WG-51, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), will meet virtually and in joint plenary to work through Final Review and Comment (FRAC)/Open Consultation (OC) comments on Change 1 to RTCA DO-317C/EUROCAE ED-194B.
May 9-10 – SC-227 w/WG-85, Standards of Navigation Performance, will meet in a joint plenary hosted by Boeing in Denver, Colorado. WG-1 and WG-2 will continue their work on closing OC/FRAC comments on DO-283C and DO-236E. WG-3 continues their work on their new standard updating the MOPS for the display of information on electronic displays which will allow for digitally derived aeronautical charts when it is complete.
May 14-16 – SC-230, Airborne Weather Detection Systems, will meet virtually to continue discussion on task “Perform Analysis and Test to Determine Susceptibility of Airborne Weather Radar Systems to Radio Frequency Interference” to include in a White Paper to be completed late this year.
May 14-16 – SC-235, Non-Rechargeable Lithium Batteries, will meet in plenary at RTCA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The group is working through resolution of items from DO-227B’s second Final Review and Comment (FRAC). The group is aiming for publication in late 2024.
May 22 – SC-231, Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS), will meet in virtual plenary to approve its Terms of Reference for submission to the Program Management Committee.
May 22-23 – SC-213 w/WG-79, Enhanced Flight Vision Systems and Synthetic Vision Systems (EFVS/SVS), will meet jointly at EASA in Cologne, Germany to work through Final Review and Comment (FRAC)/Open Consultation (OC) comments for its Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Synthetic Vision Systems, Synthetic Vision Guidance Systems and Combined Vision Systems.
May 31 – SC-243 w/WG-128, Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) Development Assurance, will meet in a joint plenary session at RTCA in Washington, DC. The group will discuss the content of the internal report and develop a plan to complete the report by the end of September 2024.
