Jan 7 – SC-222 w/WG-82, Airborne Mobile Satellite (Remote) Systems (AMS(R)S), will meet in a joint virtual plenary to consider motions to initiate Final Review and Comment / Open Consultation (FRAC/OC) for the new revision of Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) and Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for satellite systems.
Jan 9 – SC-224, Airport Security Access Control Systems, will meet in a virtual plenary to continue progress on the updates to DO-230N. They will consider a Terms of Reference (ToR) update to delay the publication of DO-230N. Additionally, SC-224 is seeking new members to help contribute to Revision N which will include addressing the use of Artificial Intelligence.
Jan 20-23 – SC-135 w/WG-14, Environmental Testing, will meet in plenary sessions hosted by EUROCAE in Saint Denis, France. They are undertaking the resolution of comments from their 4th internal review period on DO-160H. They intend to finish the internal review in the spring and initiate FRAC/OC in April 2025 and publish DO-160H in December 2025, ahead of their scheduled ToR date.
Jan 21 – SC-186 w/WG-51, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), will meet in a joint virtual plenary to close and approve FRAC/OC of Change 2 to RTCA DO-260C / EUROCAE ED-102B, MOPS for 1090 MHz Extended Squitter Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) and Traffic Information Services – Broadcast (TIS-B). Additionally, the group will continue discussion on possible path of GNSS RFI Status bits into ADS-B Out message downlink.
Jan 22 – SC-206 w/WG-76, Aeronautical Information and Meteorological Data Link Services, will meet in a virtual plenary to approve DO-364A/ED-335, MASPS for Aeronautical Information/Meteorological Data Link Services, to exit FRAC/OC and to send to the Program Management Committee and Council in March for approval and publication.
Jan 28-29 – SC-231, Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS), will meet at RTCA in Washington, DC, to finalize the internal report the committee is working on. The group will also discuss a revised ToR.
Jan 28-29 – SC-244 w/WG-129, Take-off Performance Monitoring System Strategy, will meet at RTCA in Washington, DC. The group’s new ToR was approved at the December PMC meeting. They will start work on their MOPS.
Jan 30 – SC-239 w/WG-119, Low Range Radar Altimeter, will hold a joint plenary hosted by EUROCONTROL in Brussels, Belgium. The group will have working meetings starting January 28th. They expect to consider a ToR update as well as make progress on the Radar Altimeter MOPS.
Jan 31 – SC-228 w/WG-119, Minimum Performance Standards for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, will meet at RTCA in Washington, DC, to approve two documents to exit FRAC for DO-366B, MOPS for Air to Air Radar (ATAR) for Traffic Surveillances, and DO-365C Change 1, MOPS for Detect and Avoid Systems. If approved, the documents will be sent to the March PMC for approval and publication.
