Jul 5 – SC-159, Navigation Equipment Using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), met jointly with EUROCAE WG-62 virtually to complete Final Review and Comment (FRAC)/Open Consultation (OC) Resolution on ED-259A/DO-401 – Dual-Frequency Multi-Constellation Satellite-Based Augmentation System Airborne Equipment. They approved this document to forward to the RTCA PMC and EUROCAE Council for publication in the fall.

Jul 6 – SC-222 – Aeronautical Mobile Satellite (R) Services (AMS(R)S), met jointly with EUROCAE WG-82 virtually to discuss Terms of Reference (ToR) revision to add DO-262F/ED-243C Change 2 – Minimum Operational Performance Standards for Avionics Standards for Avionics Supporting Next Generation Satellite Systems (GNSS). It was approved and was forwarded to the PMC and TAC, respectively, for final approval.

Jul 10-11 – SC-135, Environmental Testing, met in a joint virtual plenary with EUROCAE WG-14. They reviewed the change proposals on sections 4, 5, 6, 12, 14, 17, 18 and 24 and dispositioned them for implementation of Rev H of DO-160. After all sections complete an internal review and comment, the group will prepare DO-160H for FRAC/OC towards the end of 2024.

Jul 10-14 – SC-214 w/WG-78, Standards for Air Traffic Data Communication Services, met at the Maastricht Upper Control Center (MUAC) in Maastricht, Netherlands, and was hosted by Eurocontrol. The committee completed comment resolution for DO-350B/ED-228B & DO-351B/ED-229B and approved the documents for submission to the RTCA PMC and EUROCAE Council for publication. The next meeting will be held virtually on August 10.

Jul 12 – SC-236 w/WG-96, Standards for Wireless Avionics Intra-Communication System (WAIC) within 4 200-4 400 MHz, met in a joint plenary with EUROCAE WG-96 and approved initiating FRAC/OC for the new MOPS for WAIC. Jul 13 – SC-224, Airport Security Access Control Systems, met virtually in plenary to continue work on their guidelines document DO-230M, scheduled to be published in early 2024.

Jul 21 – SC-228, Minimum Performance Standards for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, met at RTCA in Washington, DC, to hear updates from each of the SC-228 working groups (WG), as well as EUROCAE WG-105, Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The committee finalized comments for DO-381A, MOPS for GBSS for Traffic Surveillance, and approved the document to be presented to the PMC for approval and publication in September. The next meeting will be held at RTCA on October 20.

Jul 25 – SC-222, Aeronautical Mobile Satellite (R) Services (AMS(R)S), met for second plenary jointly with EUROCAE WG-82 virtually to discuss DO-262F/ED-243C Change 2 – Minimum Operational Performance Standards for Avionics Standards for Avionics Supporting Next Generation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and releasing for FRAC/OC.

Jul 27 – SC-242, Spectrum Compatibility, met in joint plenary with EUROCAE WG-124 at RTCA in Washington, DC. The group has approved a review and comment by RTCA and EUROCAE before issuing the first RTCA Report, RR-001, in the fall of 2023.
