Sep 8 – SC-147, Traffic Alert & Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), met virtually to hear updates from EUROCAE WG-75. SC-147 approved its ACAS SxU MOPS to send to the PMC for approval and publishing in December.

Sep 8 – SC-224, Airport Security Access Control Systems, met virtually to complete Final Review and Comment (FRAC) resolution for DO-230L. The group approved release for presentation at the December PMC meeting for proposed publication.

Sep 8 – SC-235, Non-Rechargeable Lithium Batteries, met in virtual plenary and approved the release of DO-227B for FRAC (close out Oct 12th) with expected publication early next year.

Sep 9 – SC-242, Spectrum Compatibility, met in joint plenary with EUROCAE WG-124 hosted by EUROCONTROL in Brussels, Belgium. During the working meetings and plenary sessions, they reviewed the inputs from current and former RTCA and EUROCAE committees. The next plenary session will be at RTCA in November.

Sep 13-14 – SC-238, Counter UAS, met in joint plenary with EUROCAE WG-115 hosted by RTCA in Washington, DC. This was their first post-COVID in person meeting to continue work on their SPR and INTEROP documents scheduled for publication in late 2023.

Sep 14-15 – SC-222, Aeronautic Mobile Satellite (Route) Services, met virtually with EUROCAE WG-82 to continue work on their MOPS (DO-262G/ED-242D) and MASPS (DO-343E/ED-243D) with scheduled publication in mid-2024.

Sep 15 – PMC, Program Management Committee, met at RTCA in Washington, DC. The group approved four documents for publication.  Additionally, three Terms of Reference (TOR) with delivery changes, and five administrative TORs were presented for review and approved.

Sep 20-22 – SC-236, Standards for Wireless Avionics Intra-Communication System (WAIC) within 4200-4400 MHz, met in a joint virtual plenary with EUROCAE WG-96. Great progress was made in organizing the work on the MOPS for WAIC which will be published in 2023.

Sep 23 – SC-206, Aeronautical Information and Meteorological Data Link Services, met in joint plenary with EUROCAE WG-76 hosted by EUROCONTROL in Brussels, Belgium. They held four days of working meetings prior to the plenary to continue progress on three documents.

Sep 26-30 – SC-223, Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) and AeroMACS, met in joint sessions with EUROCAE WG-108 at RTCA. The group also welcomed the AEEC IPS Subcommittee to their joint plenary session with EUROCAE WG-108 for three days of meetings. The groups are coordinating to be sure SC-223/WG-108’s upcoming MASPS will be compatible with other industry standards for IPS. The group hopes to enter Final Review and Comment and Open Consultation on the IPS MASPS in December 2022.

Sep 27-30 – SC-239, Low Range Radar Altimeter, held their first in-person plenary session at RTCA as a joint meeting with EUROCAE WG-119. The joint group approved initiating Open Consultation and Final Review and Comment on their guidance document related to interference performance of Radar Altimeters.
