Mar 5-7 – SC-235, Non-Rechargeable Lithium Batteries, will meet in plenary at RTCA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The group is working through resolution of items from DO-227B’s second Final Review and Comment (FRAC). The group is aiming for publication in mid to late 2024.
Mar 8 – SC-217 w/WG-44, Aeronautical Databases, will meet in a joint plenary hosted by Garmin in Olathe, Kansas to adjudicate and disposition comments received in the Final Review and Comment/Open Consultation (FRAC/OC) process for DO-200C, Standards for Processing Aeronautical Data. The group will, as time permits, look at the planned updates to DO-200B, User Requirements for Navigational Data, which will be their next task. The group hopes to present DO-200C for publication at the Program Management Committee (PMC) meeting in June.
Mar 14 – PMC, Program Management Committee, will meet at RTCA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The group will review one revised document (DO-230M – Standards for Airport Security Access Control Systems) for approval and publication, review one administrative change for one Special Committee (SC) ToR, two ToR revisions, receive updates on important SC activities, and discussed several significant topics.
Mar 18-22 – SC-223 w/ WG-108, Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) and AeroMACS, will meet in a joint plenary hosted by EUROCONTROL in Brussels, Belgium. The group is working on an update to DO-379, the Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) profiles document, which will include information that needs to be addressed for DO-379A to align with the recently published DO-404 Minimum Aviation System Performance Standard for IPS. The committee will consider initiating FRAC/OC on DO-379A during their meetings.
Mar 22 – SC-159 w/WG-62, Navigation Equipment Using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), will meet in joint plenary at RTCA Headquarters in Washington, DC. The group will discuss status of DO-292A finalization for presentation to the PMC for review and publication, status of DO-373A’s FRAC release, continue work on DO-401A/ED-259B, and the initial MOPS and CIE for Verification and Validation as well as a BeiDou White Paper.
Mar 22 – SC-240 w/WG-117, Aviation Software Standards, will meet in a joint plenary at RTCA to continue adjudicating member comments on the draft document addressing Commercial off the Shelf Software to be used in aviation software. The group will also discuss the report outlining the work of previously done by the Forum on Aeronautical Software (FAS). The work of the FAS is now part of the scope of SC-240 and WG-117.
