Dec 2-6 – SC-206 w/WG-76, Aeronautical Information and Meteorological Data Link Services, hosted by L3 Harris, will meet in Melbourne, Florida . The joint group will continue working to close Final Review and Comment / Open Consultation (FRAC/OC) on their Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Aeronautical Information/Meteorological Data Link Services.
Dec 9 & 13 – SC-216 w/WG-72, Aeronautical Information Systems Security, will meet in Daytona Beach, Florida, hosted by Embry-Riddle for plenary sessions and working meetings. Hosted by Embry-Riddle, one of the goals for the joint group for the week is to initiate FRAC/OC on their Information Security Management System Guidance for Aviation Organizations document and an update of Guidance on Information Security Event Management (DO-392A/ED-206A). The group will also review all the items under development and discuss their plans for future meetings in 2025.
Dec 10-12 – SC-230, Airborne Weather Detection Systems, will hold a virtual plenary to discuss the progress they are making on the report addressing the effects of Radio Frequency interference on the performance of the airborne weather radar systems developed to RTCA standards.
Dec 12 – PMC, Program Management Committee, will meet at RTCA Headquarters in Washington, DC, to consider updates to 11 Terms of References (ToR) for Special Committees and 10 technical standards for publication. They will also have a detailed discussion on the plans to update the schedule for completing and publishing the Minimum Operational Performance Standard (MOPS) for Radar Altimeters.
Dec 16 – SC-240 w/WG-117, Aviation Software Standards, will meet virtually to consider a motion to enter FRAC/OC on the Supplement to DO-178C/ED-12C and DO-278B/ED-109B which will provide guidance on how to use COTS and Open Source products in aviation software.
